eXFinancial, Inc. was invited to participate in the Accounting Boot Camp hosted by Beta Alpha Psi Accounting students at Georgia State University J. Mack Robinson College of Business. Our CEO, Spiceda Davis, CPA exposed students to non-traditional roles in public accounting transitioning from audit to advisory.
Davis has worked in public accounting for thirteen years providing quality value- added services to her clients, from non-profits to Fortune 500s. During her ten years in public accounting she worked in the Big 4 accounting firms, KPMG and Pricewaterhouse Coopers as an audit and transaction services professional. In her career, she was a leader on the spin-off of Hanesbrands from Sara Lee and the carve-out of BP's fabrics and fibers division. Spiceda's passion is the financial health of businesses and non-profit organizations. She believes that no matter what size a business, for-profit or non-profit, healthy financial statements are key and that businesses should be managed from the financial statements.
As an M&A professional, she focused on kicking the tires of businesses looking for information that was important to investors and buyers as part of performing due diligence on businesses. It was during this part of her career she gained an innate ability to review a Company's financial statements and find data that was important to effectively and efficiently running the business and decision making. She used this talent to assist Genesis a New Life, the nonprofit she serves as a Board of Director, during a tough transitional time. While assisting Genesis she discovered that her skill-set as a M&A due diligence professional was critical to all businesses and organizations.
